CLIMBING. WALKING. MOUNTAINEERING

Stafford’s premier club for rock climbing, hill walking, ice climbing and winter mountaineering since 1952.

The Mountain Club

Welcome to The Mountain Club, Stafford’s own club for rock climbing, hill walking, ice climbing and winter mountaineering since 1952.

We are an active club with over 90 full members and regularly have 15 attendees at our events ranging in skill levels from beginner through accomplished Extreme grade climbers.  As well as regular weekly indoor climbing during the winter evenings, club members organise frequent and ad hoc weekend and longer trips both home and abroad. Members climb or boulder most weeks throughout the year.

Our Meets List covers a wide range of trips for every taste – take a look at this year’s Meets List.

Club members also take part in Mountain Biking, Surfing, Canoeing and Sailing.
For information on how to join the Mountain Club, please follow this Join link.

We recently celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the completion of our mountain hut, Bryn Hafod and updated our logo to enable it to be digitalised.
